NOSOTROS

Mexican Popular Graphics

Paper, Ink and Tradition

We are a popular printmaking studio that preserves and reinterprets the legacy of Mexican engraving, from Posada's calaveras to contemporary woodcut.

The Craft of Printmaking

Galería Copal was born from the tradition of Mexican popular printmaking, heir to the Taller de Gráfica Popular and the legacy of masters such as José Guadalupe Posada, Leopoldo Méndez, and Francisco Toledo. In our studio, wood, stone, and ink are vehicles of expression and cultural resistance.

We believe that popular graphics is the art of the people: multiple, accessible, and full of meaning. Every work that comes off our presses honors this tradition of making art that tells stories, that denounces, that celebrates, and that endures.

Our Values

Popular Graphics

We continue the legacy of the Taller de Gráfica Popular and the great masters like Posada and Mendizábal, bringing art to those who need it most.

Ancestral Technique

We master woodcut, lithography, and screenprint as languages of expression, using traditional presses and tools that preserve the craft.

Collective Voice

Printmaking is a people's art. We create accessible editions that democratize art and strengthen the identity of our communities.
